New series on The Pro Audio Files from Eric Tarr all about using *****'s BFD 3 and iZotope, Inc.'s Alloy 2 for drum production and mixing in Pro Tools.
Any idea how this canbe done in Cubase? I ve routed the drum kit in seperate channels (Automation under the Instrument track) but its not audio channels. I cannot record this.
So far Pro Tools is the only DAW I've used that allows the multi out of BFD3 (or Superior Drummer, etc.) to be routed to audio tracks. I love Pro Tools for this. Seems strange but I actually like tracking the multi-outs and then mixing later. However with Cubase, you could move the midi groove to the midi editor in BFD3 and bounce all the separate audio out of BFD3 into a folder, then import all the audio into Cubase onto audio tracks.
Hi. I hope to have an answer, this vid is 5 years old so no one might look after it anymore... I am using BFD3 in Cakewalk Sonar by Bandlab. Somehow I am stuck with audio channel routing. Within BFD3, I got 2 mono out and 6 stereo out. But then, questions arise: in Cakewalk, still, all the audio come only out through the BFD instrument track. I had wanted the kick, the snare, the hi-hat, the cymbals, the toms, the percussion each in a separate channel / audio track, and I do not know how. I've tried so many things, checked a lot of videos, but none of them uses Cakewalk as a host. Is there a tutorial I didn't find yet? BFD 3 hosted by Cakewalk on a PC (Win 10) machine? Thankx.
Hi. Thank you for the video. Coul you please tell me how can i adjust the sieze of the bfd3 plugin inside of pro tools? When I open it as a plugin, it has a realy big size, so i can't have a good workflow. Saludos.
ive linked it up with audio tracks through tacking the 8 mono and stereo into their own. arming and nothing happens. it doesnt want to record. I have to do it loops through bfd and 1 track sample. thats just how ive been doing it for abit..
In BFD 3 you can do that in an easiest way. Just record the midi data you've already recorded in PT back to BFD groove editor and then just click in the "export" inside BFD 3 and It will export each channel separated to a folder, after that just impor the audio to PT. I always do that and I think It's so much easier. But in BFD 2 I used to do like you show. Good job Buddy ! Here is the tutorial. ruclips.net/video/iJ50DumaABA/видео.html

The routing should be the same, irrespective of what DAW you use 😁
